Following the Canada Green Building Council’s Zero Carbon Building Standard, this new facility, designed by Lett Architects, will achieve net zero energy performance using onsite renewable energy that will greatly reduce operating and maintenance costs.
“Respect for the environment is a core value for JCB Construction Canada” has indicated Alexandre S. Boucher, Vice President, Construction. “Building the City’s first facility to be certified Zero Carbon for both performance and design categories is a great source of pride for our team.”
Present at the ground-breaking ceremony held on February 16, 2023, JCB’s team is eager to start this eco-friendly project, which should be completed by fall 2024.
“We are looking forward to providing the population of Peterborough with an efficient fire station that will better support the needs of this growing community,” added Soroosh Sharifpoor, project manager at JCB Construction Canada.
