About the position
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst plays a key role in the accounting and cash management at JCB Construction Canada. This new position is designed to provide daily support to the Director of Finance in preparation for the implementation of a new ERP system in the fall of 2025. Over time, the selected candidate will be given additional responsibilities based on their skills and experience.
Your mission as a Financial Analyst:
- In collaboration with the Director of Finance, prepare monthly financial statements:
o Coordinate the closing of subsidiary ledgers with technicians and bookkeeping clerks.
o Prepare or review the workpapers necessary to support balance sheet accounts.
o Prepare adjusting entries and import them into the accounting system.
o Analyze financial results, identify significant variances from the budget and forecasts, and provide clear explanations to stakeholders.
o Participate in the preparation of the monthly financial results presentation.oordonner la fermeture des auxiliaires avec les techniciens et commis comptables. - Contribute to the preparation of the annual audit file at the end of the fiscal year.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, determine the cash position of various JCB entities, and rebalance accounts according to the cash management policy.
- Prepare the monthly borrowing base certificate and the supporting documents required by the bank for margining.
- Prepare monthly consumption tax returns for the various entities.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts within JCB’s finance function, including, but not limited to, process reengineering, the development of accounting policies and internal controls, and the creation of accounting and financial analyses.
To work with us, you need to have :
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration with a specialization in finance, or any other relevant studies.
- CPA professional designation or in the process of obtaining it (support available to validate the required experience).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a business or accounting firm.
- Proficiency in English.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience in the construction industry (an asset).
- Experience in an environment applying IFRS (an asset).
- Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, and leadership skills.
