The Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle rest area has undergone a major refurbishment as part of the Ministry of Transport's $150 million initiative to modernize rest areas across the province. The renovation respects the site's original 1973 construction, preserving its distinctive “Canadian house” architectural style. Designed to achieve LEED v4 certification, the updated facility now offers a range of essential services, including a WiFi zone, restrooms, a nursing room, vending machines, indoor and outdoor seating areas, an outdoor picnic space with a children’s playground, and dedicated parking for electric vehicles, RVs, and trucks.
